Shock Defense Stymies Barnstormers in Des Moines

In Spokane’s first two games, they allowed their opponent to stick around for the first half. Iowa was afforded no such luxury. The Spokane Shock went on the road and pounded the Iowa Barnstormers by a score of 66-43. Spokane’s defense was stifling and the offense continued to score points at will. Iowa could only muster nine points in the first half. While their offense eventually got into a groove in the second half, the hole dug was too deep and the Barnstormers walked from Friday’s yardstick game with more questions than answers.

The Iowa Barnstormers attempt to start the season 3-0 for the first time in franchise history came to an abrupt halt Friday night as they fell to the Spokane Shock by a 66-43 score. With the loss, Iowa falls to 2-1 on the season, while Spokane finishes their 3 week road trip with a perfect 3-0 record.

The Iowa Barnstormers went into their home opener against the Spokane Shock on Friday with a 2-0 record. Spokane came into Des Moines with a similar record. After heating things up against the Rush and the VooDoo the two previous weeks, the Barnstormers held an early deficit and gave a flat performance that kept them trailing the Shock the entire game.
