The Rush won their third consecutive game of the season Saturday night as they defeated the Utah Blaze 59-56. The victory allowed the Rush to claim first place in the Central Division for the first time this season.
The Utah Blaze (1-3) battled in a back-and-forth affair with the Chicago Rush (3-2), but a last second field goal proved to be the difference in a tight contest on Saturday night. With the game tied at 56 and just enough time left on the clock for one final play, Chicago kicker Jose Martinez connected on a 23-yard attempt to seal a 59-56 loss for the Blaze.
The Rush travel to Salt Lake City this weekend to take on the Utah Blaze in the AFL’s Game of the Week featured on the CBS Sports Network. After an uncharacteristic 0-2 start for the Rush, they’ve evened their record at 2-2 by defeating the San Antonio Talons and the Pittsburgh Power in the past two weeks.
