The Washington Valor (1-7) face the Baltimore Brigade (6-2) inside of Royal Farms Arena at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 15th. The game will broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. This is the third time these two teams have met this season, the last was a one point decision in Washington.
Fresh off their first win of the season, a 49-48 victory in Philly, the Valor will look continue their winning ways against the Brigade in Charm City. Valor quarterback Arvell Nelson got it done in the air and on the ground last weekend, completing 17-of-27 passes for 214 yards and four touchdowns, also adding two rushing scores of his own. Washington wasn’t afraid to spread the ball around either, Nelson passed to six different receivers. The previous game, during Week 8 against the Soul, the Valor also lit it up, if they are able to build off both games they might find themselves in the drivers seat against Baltimore.
The Brigade are also coming off a close game as well, one which ended in a win in Albany where kicker Mark Lewis had quite possibly his best game of the season including the game winning field goal. Quarterback Randy Hippeard continues to be consistent as ever too, closing in on the final stretch of the season he is completing of his 72% of his passes, which leads the league. This week the Brigade also added veteran defensive back Clevan Thomas. The 4x ArenaBowl champ will certainly be a welcome presence heading into the postseason.
