Biography
Named prep Athlete of the Year and the Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1997, Phillips was a four-year letter-winner and member of the 1999 Ivy League Championship team. The only member of the Yale team to play both offense and defense during the 1998 and 1999 campaigns, Josh was named 2000 Norman S. Hall Memorial Award recipient, which is given for outstanding service to Yale football. He played for the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe in 2002 and went to training camp with the Houston Texans later that year. His father, Jerry Phillips, spent time with the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints.
