The Bismarck bandits and Alaska wild were suppose to play in the af2. I know the wild played in the ifl and not in the af2. The Detroit fury were suppose to play I think in 2000 but delayed and started the next year with Chicago.

The Oklahoma City bullfrogs, afl2. They were supposed to be ran by the local hockey team, OKC blazers, management group. Had a big press conference and everything, then portland forest dragons decided to come here a few weeks later and become the Oklahoma wranglers, Bullfrogs went bye bye. Hockey team people were very angry. They actually had good logo, a bullfrog running with a football wearing a 1930's type football uniform. Oh well.

Was that public at all in papers or anything... because that sounds a lot like the Toledo team...

The daily Oklahoman, local news paper, covered it and so did the local TV stations. Sorry don't know anything about Toledo. But I remember the GM's name, Brad Lund.

Here are a couple of articles I found. Newsok.com/article/2663656

Newsok.com/article/2763473. Bullfrogs are mentioned at the tail end of both those articles.

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder was going to have team in the Arena Football League called the Washington Warriors, the uniforms with the spear on the Bugandy Helmet did get used as Redskins throwbacks during the Steve Spurrier era, but Snyder couldn't get a least for the XFinity Center in College Park and that was the end of that
