... I think it could be interesting/useful if we could have a 'sticky' post with info's on where 'our' players (coaches and execs too?) sign for the upcoming season. What all of you think ?
It will be helpful to follow them a little closer while we wait for the waking from this nightmare Crying or Very sad ... also, 'cause all other leagues are not easy to follow, we could help each other with info we found.
As example the last news I saw was for coach Plank going to Jets, there's Dolezel with Firecats and Michna with Slaughter but what 'bout all others ? Ahmad said he'll go with IFL ... how we could organize this thing ?
C'mon guys, there's already the League 'deafening' silence, let's keep this thing alive Exclamation

Ok, I'll start making a list. - some of the team websites have already either blocked or deleted information and lists. Many of the names from the 2008 season are no longer on the website lists. Help me fill in the blanks.

If anyone knows of some info or sees some new stuff please post it so these lists can be updated.

If I've missed some names you would like added to the list please let me know, it could be a former player. When I get the lists complete for all teams I'll start editing in the places they've move to.

<As example the last news I saw was for coach Plank going to Jets, >

Really? As what kind of coach? I didn't see that anywhere.....thanks for the info.

I think a sticky thread on who's gone/going where is a great idea....I can't help you out with it however, I'm the most disorganized person you'll ever meet! Embarassed
I like the idea, would you be willing to run the thread? ...
I would like, but I don't know if I'm good enough at do it ... help with research ? That's sure Smile
... When they dropped to the af2 I tried to keep track of where their AFL players and staff went.
The more detailed lists were on the Wrangler forum, but it disappeared along with the team. I had the list as the 1st post and when others would post ifo I edited the list. I wish I still had access to those lists. Mad
...
Yeah, I remember it on Wranglers website : I think it was a great work.
... It's a little easier with one team vs 17, or more if you list info about older players on older teams no longer here.
How to make the list?
List all 17 teams rosters and add where they are once we find out?
Only list the names when you know where they went?
Just put them in alphabetical order as they come in, there are way too many teams to list across all leagues....
Good idea ... but again : I'm not so good at do it, don't know how to make 'sticky' : anyone could help us ? Smile

I think you have to contact a mod or Admin and they make the thread a "sticky", posters can't do it.

Okay everyone knows I worked for the Preds so might as well fess up to who I "really" am, LOL.

Michelle Raulerson - I have gotten a temp position w/ the Hyatt Hotel at the Orlando International Airport in there accounting office working in Accounts Receivables. It is only temp, that way I can be available if/when the Preds come back.

Keith Recine - I know that he has also gotten a job, however I do not know w/ what company. He too is trying to stay as updated as he can to be available when the Preds come back.

I'm not to sure about anyone else from the office, nor would I have permission to talk about what they are doing so that is the updates that I can give you guys for people in my office. If you would like more info on me, just post me back. Thanks all.

sheesh no wonder some teams are losing a boat load of money. Look at the office staffs of Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, and Grand Rapids. Each with close to 24 office staff. San Jose has no more than 12 and half of those or interns from local colleges. There is no need to have a huge staff with a niche sport like AFL. All you need is the following positions:
1. Ticket Operations
2. Season Ticket Holder Manager
3. Director of Operations
4. Marketing Director
5. Public Relations Director

If you wanted you could combine 1 and 2 and have an inter do position 1. And each position should have an inter from the local college or university helping out.

A teams coaching staff and office staff should never excede the number of players on a team, and payroll should never excede what you pay your players.

That was my thought as I was looking it all up - WOW!
Here in Austin the office staff was relatively small and everyone wore many hats. Some of these lists look like IBM or something - lol

That is probably how the staffs in the future will be...not as many and a jack of all trades (so to say). I'd say less coaches too.

I know Terry Malley is working with San Jose State in some form or another with new recruits, but not sure if he did that anyway as a part time gig.

Don't jump to conclusions - it's really not the way it looks for the Colorado Crush. Majority owner Stan Kroenke/Kroenke Sports Enterprises owns many other professional sports team - NBA, MLH, soccer, and many more, plus the arenas/sports parks. The Crush built synergies with the other teams, and utilized the parent company staff for many functions, such as Finance, Strategic Partnerships and even Ticketing. Many of the others listed as "staff" were not regular employees - such as the physicians and and chiroprator.

To my knowledge besides coaching staff, there were only a couple of people employed by the Crush fulltime - VP of Operations, and Media Relations are the ones I'm aware of. They cut out the separate ticketing management a year ago.

I think it's rather like the way the credits at the end of movies keeps getting longer and longer - just trying to acknowledge all of the people who contribute to the effort. And, regarding the list on the Crush' website, providing contact information for folks who have a legitimate business need to contact them.

I agree with the prediction that, in the future, all teams office staffs will be lean and efficient.

The reason teams were struggling had nothing to do with staff size. Staff size is a decision made by individual owners, as every market is different and requires a different type staff. Teams can have any type of staff they want, so if they felt they were losing money due to too many employees it's very easy to change that and would have been done long ago.

Looking over the size of some of the staffs, it looks like some of the teams probably did make that decision long ago. But as a fan, give me the teams with the larger staff and most resources. I think the more talented, experienced people you can have the better.

The sites that are down made it tough to find info besides rosters, so the teams with only a couple of people listed as office/administration are really larger than posted here.

The ones with hundreds - lol - of workers aren't all actually employed by the team as CrushMtnMama says. Many are just "affiliated" with the team.

Wild Add Explosive Receivers to Roster
January 29, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) Wichita Wild

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has added two experienced wide receivers for the 2009 season. The Wild signed Clinton Solomon who spent the 2008 season with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League (AFL) and starred at the University of Iowa. The team also re-signed Carlos Cavanaugh who led the Wild in touchdowns in 2008. Solomon and Cavanaugh are brothers.
Solomon spent the entire 2008 season on the Chicago Rush's practice squad. He was expected to be a starter in 2009, before the AFL canceled the upcoming season. Solomon spent the spring and summer of 2007 with the Tennessee Titans before being released as training camp began. Solomon then signed with the Chicago Bears and was let go prior to the season begining. The Ft. Worth, TX native signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2006 and was released in the final cut down before the season.
