That's fine with me for a thread here under "Other Indoor Leagues". It doesn't really belong under "History" as I understand it, since that is supposed to be about AFL history. I'd be happy to hear about, say, Mouse Davis and the first effort, which was, what, the World League of Indoor Football? Would be happy to hear about any of them which got beyond a concept on somebody's blackboard/whiteboard or somebody's basement, where an actual announcement was held, personnel actually hired or at least offered, etc. In other words, if they made an actual effort to form teams or at least appear that they were doing so.

I'd still like to know why the Vigilantes folded...

all I know of is the AFL Tolede Bullfrogs (hence why I named my AAL team the Kissimmee Bullfrogs)

That's pretty easy Jerry wasn't making money off of them like he hoped to.

The Vigilantes Jerry Jones had nothing to do with.

Jerry owned the Desperados, not the Vigilantes

Of course, that's right. I'm sure then that it had to do with the venue operator keeping the ancillary revenue like parking and concessions, or at least too large of a share of it. That was the story in Nashville, where the Kats could sell out and still lose money.

Was that the case for both Nashville 1 and Nashville 2?

Pretty much. The second incarnation was owned by Bud Adams during the era when the AFL was really into overlapping ownership with NFL teams, but since he didn't control the hockey venue, he found out that they wouldn't cut him any more slack than they had the owners of the previous Kats, the ones which became the Georgia Force. He was so irate that at one point he was publicly threatening to build his own new mid-sized (11,000 or so) arena to host the Kats and the other mid-level entertainments that come to Nashville and really don't need the 17K+ of the Bridgestone but would like something better than the 1962 Municipal Auditorium. Apparently costs dissuaded him from this, and he got out of the Arena football business instead
