I know this is pure fantasy and would NEVER happen, but the idea of a guy with his skills sounds really fun. We get him and RG-III on rival teams and let them go nuts.

Ok, back to reality I suppose.

For the trifecta bring in Johnny Football. Manziel might succeed in the indoor/arena game. He be much cheaper than RGIII or Kapernick.

No, it would be awful. People have short memories.

The last version of the Albany Firebirds (Af2, they were the Conquest renamed), tried this with a trial balloon about trying to sign Michael Vick just after the Dog controversy.

The publicity reaction was so bad, it sunk the ticket base and the team went out of business shortly afterwards. You don't build a team base or a league with these sorts of stunts.

I remember that. It was not what the team expected.

I can tell you some AFL players did kneel late in the season and some STM's (season ticket members) noticed and made their voices know to teams.

I think the intention of the subject author was in jest, The following strings were attempts at humor......and apparently failed Laughing

Running qbs like Kaep, RG3, Vick, Tebow, Manzel, etc don't work well in the Arena League. You can agrue for Major Harris or Micheal Bishop all you want, neither carried their teams anywhere significant.

True, it would be fun to see NFL washouts square off.
Tommy Maddox (Red Dogs) never did get play Todd Marinovich (Avengers) in 2000.

This was a joke that was put on the team's website by an office intern without the knowledge of the team. The intern was dismissed later that day.

These players don't want to do it for the peanuts the AFL pays, well, maybe Manziel, who's probably shooting up behind a dumpster right now. He could play an AFL game pooping his pants while on heroin, like Marinovich did.

His Class A, minor league baseball salary is probably bigger than AFL pay.

I doubt it will happen, simply because Kaepernick, RG3, Manziel, Tebow, and other running QBs are, first, better suited to play IFL football as QBs, and second, in the AFL the running QB either gains weight and becomes a fullback or works out more and becomes a WR and/or a jack linebacker.

Or starts for Cleveland; ain't that right Capper.

Well, Nelson WAS a backup QB playing as a JLB... hopefully he stays there this season if the Gladiators find a better QB....
