This is why I don't see them returning to the AFL. They've got to making more than they did before in the AFL.

Agreed spiderfan.

Look at the ticket prices at AZ games and the fans support was great. Even if those are tickets sold vs actual attendance. Who cares Az IS killing it. The league benefits from two big money generators (other is Iowa) that can assist other teams when needed as well.

SF should be making money too. They have got some solid teams in the IFL.

Per IFL statement SF averaged 7118

http://www.goifl.com/sports/fball/2016-17/releases/20171004vxz3gv

If that's the case - even with lower avg tix price, they should be financially sound and a solid franchise for the IFL.

I think it is possible for AZ to return to the AFL- but only if the following conditions are met:
1. 10+ stable teams are in the league.
2. All previous league debts are paid off.
3. A paying TV deal with revenue-sharing (two or more deals is preferable).
4. At least three teams west of the Mississippi.

Meet those conditions, and they'll be back- likely with a minority owner in Kurt Warner or Larry Fitzgerald.

That's all dependent on the Butera model rigidity - AZ ownership does not meet the Butera model. Also, Right now AZ may be way more profitable in the IFL.

Who'd win: Tampa Bay Storm without Randy Hippeard and Joe Hills (2016 storm) vs. Sioux Falls Storm in a neutral location (St. Louis).

#2 is never happening. Also Warner would buy Iowa, not Arizona.

If #1 and #4 happen, then #2 probably will have happened, TargetToad.

Warner lives in Phoenix, AZ. He does not live in Des Moines. If he moves to Des Moines, then I could see him buying a minority stake in the Barnstormers.

SF Storm would win that game.

NAL Expansion rumors are picking up on multiple sites etc... Looks like Greensboro NC and Orlando are firming up....For example:

http://lastwordonsports.com/2017/10/03/nal-grabs-greensboro-nc/

Not the best article, but has some nuggets.

These would be good sized markets for the NAL assuming the have the right ownership to take advantage of their respective sizes.

Some info Greensboro is the 75th Metro Statistical Area in population with 756k. Orlando is a large 23rd, with 2,441k

Neilson TV had Orlando 18th in market size and Greensboro 46th.

Both, at least size wise are great additions to the NAL.

Predators?

Does not appear to be happening.

Also per multiple reports AFL asking for 300k, no chance unless they decide to big drop price quickly.

Is the Orlando NAL getting Amway or UCF basketball?

Haven't seen anything yet, from what I've seen Amway is very expensive to rent and since attendance doesn't seem to exceed 10k on avg outside Az or Washington - UCF at ~10k may be a more biz prudent choice.

We'll have to wait and see.

Some xtra info:

Preds avg attendance key yrs:

2013 11.8k at amway
2014 5.4k at UCF
2015 11.4k at amway

granted attendance has dropped off for AFL this yr in general with the team reductions but still around 10k with AZ above and Jax slightly below that.

Just opining here but without the Pred name the new owners may choose to start at lower risk point esp in a lesser league.
If they go UCF and get 3.5k a game in first yr that may be considered a good start.
If they go in BIG diff story.

Again its wait and see.

They might go with Prowlers or Panthers, since it's close to the "Predators" name... and if they get at least 8k in attendance, that'll be a good start for a new team, I think... now, if the AFL folds or the trademark gets sold (I hope it's the latter), the Predators name will lead to higher attendance...

I am curious to see how well this Jersey Flight team will do. Sports have a hard time in NJ. If the AFL wont have a team there then I hope it does well in the NAL.

Where are the flight playing, because if the AFL/Devils owners decide to play, they'd probably get the prudential center.
