Cincinnati did have an AFL team (Rockers) and an af2 team (Swarm). I do not know for sure.

I heard the NAL is conducting a feasibility study of Cincy/No Ky. The league needs to get some teams within driving distance of Dayton. A triangle of Dayton, Cinci & Columbus,OH would be a nice fit. If Nationwide Arena, Columbus can't be booked there are some facilities in the area that could work for the NAL. The Ohio St Fairgrounds has a facility used for soccer & lacrosse and may be tall enough to kick a football in + it already has stadium seating (along the north wall) to accommodate 5,000+. Obviously, wouldn't accommodate an AFL team, but NAL......who knows......maybe? Have to wait and see how well the league draw is this year. Dayton is expecting attendance in the 4-5,000 range. Another possibility is Toledo. Toledo has a great venue, The Huntingdon Center (capacity 8,000) home to the hockey (ECHL) playing Walleye.

Cincinnati is just one of those larger metro markets that has MLB and NFL teams, but hasn't built a "modern" Arena for basketball or hockey (any built prior to 1980).....

Cincinnati (1975)
San Diego (1966)
Baltimore (1962)

Now, considering Baltimore IS getting a team... maybe that isn't a deal breaker? But, Baltimore is much more because of the D.C./Leonsis deal... otherwise, the league wouldn't have looked at Baltimore I'd guess.

None of the cities mentioned Cincinnati,San Diego & Baltimore have NBA Franchises presently.Citiies are not going to upgrade arenas just for Arena Football.Arena Football is not that big of a sport..That will not draw as much as Outdoor Football or the NBA.

Baltimore did host NBA games when the Wizards played in Baltimore (the arena was then known as the Baltimore Arena)

Now that I think about it, Cincinnati did have an AFL team in 1992-93 and two af2 teams (Swarm and Jungle Kats).
