Veteran Player Enters Third Season with Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore Brigade announced today the signing of veteran wide receiver Milton Williams III, who returns to Baltimore for his third season.
Williams appeared in all 12 regular season games, started in three, and was a top receiver for Baltimore in 2018. He caught 36 passes for 450 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 2018 single game-high includes catching six passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns against the Albany Empire.
“I expect this to be Williams’ breakout year,” said Baltimore Brigade Head Coach Omarr Smith. “He is young, talented and his passion shows when he plays. He is the type of player that we want to build our program around and the type of player that will represent the Brigade well both on the field and in the community.”
The Washington, D.C. native appeared in five games and started in two contests for the Brigade in 2017. He had 23 receptions for 244 yards and racked up seven touchdowns.
“I hope this year is memorable for me,” added Williams. “I strongly believe in the struggle, grind, and shine of hard work because it represents who I am, where I’ve been and where I am going. My goal is to become receiver of the year and to help my team win the championship we were so close to winning last season.”
Williams caught 126 receptions for 1,612 yards and 11 touchdowns during his four seasons at Delaware State University. He had an impressive junior year where he led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in total receptions (58) and receiving yards (888). He also was a conference leader in receiving yards per contest (80.7).
Prior to joining the Brigade, Williams was briefly signed as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders.
“Williams is a high character player and has been an amazing mentor to his brothers,” Smith said. “I have no doubt he will become a leader this season and I’m very excited to see what he will add to our team.”
