Welcome to our look at AFL alumni in the AAF. We’ll be looking at weeks 4 & 5 this week, as well as giving out the Top player of the first half award. Players are listed with their last AFL team, 2018 is assumed unless otherwise noted. Atlanta Legends Dwayne Hollis (DB, Philadelphia Soul) - No stats recorded in week 4 or 5. Malachi Jones (WR, Albany Empire, 2018 Wide Receiver and Rookie of the year awards) - Targeted 4 times, with 2 receptions for 50 yards in week 4. Two receptions for 31 yards in week 5. Birmingham Iron Joe Powell (DB, Baltimore Brigade) - One solo tackle in week 4. Three solo tackles is week 5. Orlando Apollos Jordan McCray (C, Baltimore Brigade) - No stats recorded in week 4 or 5. Earl Okine (DE, 2014 Orlando Predators) - 4 tackles, 3 for a loss, 2 QB hits in week 4. 2 tackles, 1 for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit in week 5. San Antonio Commanders Darius Prince (WR, Philadelphia Soul) - No stats recorded in week 4 or 5. Salt Lake Stallions Nick Truesdell (TE, 2016 Portland Steel) - 1 reception for 10 yards in week 4. 6 receptions for 71 yards and a TD in week 5. San Diego Fleet Donny Hageman (K, LA KISS in 2016) - 1/2 on field goals (46 yards) in week 4 (first missed FG of the season). 3/4 on field goals in week 5, including the 44-yard game winner. “AFLer of the Week” awards: Week 5 - Nick Truesdell - 6 receptions, 71 yards, 1 TD Week 4 - Earl Okine - 4 tackles (3 for a loss) and 2 QB hits.
