ALBANY- The Albany Empire announce that two players have been assigned to the team roster on the fifth day of free agency. Per League and team rules, terms are not disclosed. The free agency signing period for the Arena Football League began on Monday, March 4.

“We have spent countless hours scouting the best football talent, and that shows throughout the first week of free agency,” said Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire. “We have unfinished business to settle and one collective goal in mind: bringing a championship back to where it belongs in the Capital Region.”

EJ Levenberry, Linebacker

Originally from Viriginia, EJ Levenberry began his college career at Florida State University with a bang, winning a National Championship in his freshman season with the Seminoles. He appeared in 13 games during the team’s championship run and chipped in 39 tackles on the season. Levenberry most recently spent time with the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football League.

Cheatham Norrils, Defensive Back

Ohio native, Cheatham Norrils stayed in his home state where he attended the University of Toledo a and made an impact as early as his freshman year. The defensive back played for five seasons, and as a redshirt senior, was named First Team All-Conference as the team captain. Following college, Norrils was invited to minicamps with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints before landing in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. After his stint in the CFL, Norrils made his way to the NAL where he played with the Massachusetts Pirates for two seasons.
