Atlantic City AFL Adds Another Three Players to Inaugural Roster

 Team Adds Two Wide Receivers and a Kicker for 2019

ATLANTIC CITY- Atlantic City AFL (AC AFL) announce that three players have been assigned to the team roster on the third day of free agency. Per League and team rules, terms are not disclosed. The free agency signing period for the Arena Football League began on Monday, March 4.

LaMark Brown, Wide Receiver

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, LaMark Brown began his college career at Kansas State before transferring to Minnesota State for his senior year. Brown saw action in eight games as a true freshman in 2007 at KSU. After transferring to Minnesota State as a redshirt senior, Brown caught 31 passes for 405 yards and hauled in five touchdowns. After college, Brown was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons, and had brief stints with the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings all in 2012. Brown made his AFL debut in 2013 with the Utah Blaze. After spending some of 2013 on the practice squad with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Brown returned to the AFL where he has played since 2014. Brown spent the 2018 season with the Baltimore Brigade where he caught nine passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns.

Tyron Laughinghouse, Wide Receiver

A North Carolina native, Tyron Laughinghouse played collegiately at Saint Augustine University and made an immediate impact for the school at the wideout position. As a freshman, Laughinghouse was named to the All-CIAA rookie team. His senior season with the team, Laughinghouse tallied 59 catches for 801 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition to his dominance as a receiver, Laughinghouse was named All-CIAA First Team Kick Returner and was ranked sixth in Division II in kick return average. After college, Laughinghouse had a workout with the Pittsburgh Power of the AFL. The wideout has three years of indoor under his belt, debuting with The Wichita Falls Nighthawks in the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2016. Laughinghouse was second on the team with 63 catches for 806 yards and 14 touchdowns. After two seasons with the Nighthawks, the wideout played with the Carolina Cobras in the National Arena League (NAL) in 2018, helping the team win a championship. He finished last season with 70 catches for 805 yards and 21 touchdowns on his way to being named Second Team All-NAL Wide Receiver and First Team All-NAL Special Teams.

Mark Lewis, Kicker

Hailing from Florida, Mark Lewis began as a college soccer player at Florida International University before transferring to University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Lewis began playing professional football in 2003 with the Tennessee Valley Vipers (AF2). The kicker made the transition to the AFL in 2004, playing his debut season in the League with the Detroit Fury. In 2007 with the Austin Wranglers, Lewis was named Kicker of the Year and First Team All-Arena for the first time in his career. After playing for various AFL teams, Lewis made a home in Orlando where he played with the Predators from 2011-2016. During that span, Lewis was named Second Team All-Arena twice. In 2017, Lewis kicked for the Tampa Bay Storm under current AC AFL Head Coach, Ron James. Lewis spent 2018 with the Baltimore Brigade, once again winning Kicker of the Year and being named First Team All-Arena.

AC AFL’s inaugural campaign will begin on the road on Saturday, April 27th against the three-time League champions, Philadelphia Soul, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Kickoff time will be announced at a later date. AC AFL will play their first ever home game at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, May 4 against the Columbus Destroyers.
