The Washington Valor (1-8) lost 72-42 on Friday night inside of Royal Farms Arena against the Baltimore Brigade (7-2) in front of 5,105 fans. Baltimore set a new franchise record for points.

Valor quarterback Arvell Nelson has shown a bit of a decline since his first start this season but Baltimore is undefeated at home this year, even holding Philly to 21 points early in the season. Nelson completed 16-of-31 passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns, adding a rushing score of his own and two interceptions. Through three weeks wide receiver Reggie Gray has been Nelson’s favorite target, this week was no exception. Gray had six receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Once again defensive back Fred Obi had another decent night for Washington with five tackles and two assists. The Valor also had 10 penalties for 83 yards.

Meanwhile the Brigade were lights-out, quarterback Randy Hippeard had a quiet night by his standards, 18-of-25, 178 passing yards and five touchdowns. Baltimore shared the workload though, fullback Rory Nixon had three rushing scores including the first points of the game, defensive back Joe Powell with an interception he returned 46 yards for a touchdown in the final minuets, Virgil Gray also had a pick earlier in the game as well. Hippeard was named MVP of the Game, Nixon was named Offensive Player of the Game and Joe Powell, named Defensive Player of the Game. The Washington Valor return home next Friday, June 22nd to Capital One Arena.
