AFL Awards Week 18 Players of the Week

 Reynolds and Hayes have standout performances as their teams prepare for the Playoffs

LAS VEGAS
– The Arena Football League has announced that Philadelphia Soul wide receiver Darius Reynolds and Baltimore Brigade defensive lineman Robert Hayes have been named the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 18, respectively.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Reynolds (6’2”, 205, Iowa State) caught seven passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Philadelphia’s season finale against the Tampa Bay Storm which resulted in a Soul 41-28 victory. Reynolds capped his 2017 season 2nd in the AFL in scoring, receptions and receiving touchdowns.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hayes (6’2”, 270, Shepherd University) corralled 3.0 tackles, notched a sack, forced and recovered a fumble in a losing effort as his Brigade fell 41-35 to the Washington Valor. On the season, he finished with 8.0 sacks and 11.0 tackles for loss, all season highs for his career.
