Valor Game Preview: I'll Be Home For Christmas

WASHINGTON -  The Washington Valor (1-10) will try and use home field advantage to break the season series tie (1-1) with the Baltimore Brigade (4-7) inside of Verizon Center at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd. The game will broadcast live on Monumental Sports Network. Baltimore can clinch a playoff spot with a win.

Back in the Phone Booth, this Saturday, the Valor bring you Christmas in July. I wonder if it snows in the Verizon Center? After another tough loss on the road to Philly 68-41 last week, hopefully the Grinch doesn't steal Christmas. The Valor aren't out of it mathematically just yet and if quarterback Sean Brackett can lead his team to victory, there's still hope for this young expansion and it's postseason wishes. Washington will look to wide receivers TT Toliver, Charles McClain, and Roger Jackson with the recent news of Greg Carr being placed on suspension. Defensively the Valor are still leading in fumble return yards, if Jimmy "The Commissioner" Gordon is back in action along with Brandon Sesay, Jake Payne and Everett Dawkins, they could add a touchdown or two to the scoreboard.

After the Brigade handed Philadelphia their first loss of the season just two weeks ago, the Tampa Bay Storm rolled through Charm City last weekend and took another W with them, completing a second season sweep. This week QB Shane Carden will become the first rookie to throw for 3,000 yards since 2011, and also beat veteran Soul QB Dan Raudabaugh to the 3,000 mark this season, impressive, Shane continues to look like the leading candidate 2017 Rookie of the Year. Look for special teams to be a major factor during this game for both Washington and Baltimore. If you're in town, get to the Verizon Center early, in addition to the Valor Hour beer specials, there's a Christmas pregame party, prizes, giveaways, photo stations and activities for the kids all throughout the night.
