Standout performances by Hills and Daniels help their teams’ secure victories late in the 4th quarter
LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Joe Hills and Philadelphia Soul defensive end Sean Daniels have been named the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 6, respectively.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hills (6’4”, 220, Tennessee State) was stellar in Tampa Bay’s (4-1) 41-33 victory over the Washington Valor (1-3) in Week 6. Hills led with a game-high nine receptions for 85 yards and three receiving touchdowns, including the game winner late in the fourth quarter. The three-touchdown performance marks the 42nd time he has caught three or more touchdowns in a game in his five-plus year career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Daniels (6’3”, 265, Temple) made three tackles in the 61-56 Philadelphia Soul victory over the Baltimore Brigade last week. The defensive end made the play of the game as he scooped up a fumble and returned it 39 yards for the game-winning touchdown with :33 seconds left in the 4th quarter.
