Storm Adds To Offense And Defense

 Storm acquires wide receiver Tyrone Goard and defensive lineman Ino Vitale

TAMPA BAY
– The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired wide receiver Tyrone Goard and defensive lineman Ino Vitale announced Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

Goard (6-foot-4, 192 lbs., Eastern Kentucky) enters his fourth season in the Arena Football League and first with the Storm. He spent the 2016 season with the Portland Steel, starting in 6-of-7 games and hauling in 51 catches for 454 yards and 13 touchdowns.

A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Goard began his AFL career with the Pittsburgh Power in 2014. He would go on to play for the LA KISS during the 2015 season. For his career, Goard has appeared in 21 games and reeled in 97 catches for 909 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Goard began his professional career in 2013 when he signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League.

Vitale (6-foot-5, 330 lbs., Southwest Baptist) joins the Storm for his first season in the AFL. The Pago Pago, American Samoa native has several years of experience in various indoor leagues. Vitale also spent part of 2016 training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.

He played collegiately at Southwest Baptist University. In his senior season, Vitale appeared in 10 games and recorded 48.0 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
