Former Soul kicker joins Sharks
JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville announced that they have been assigned kicker Jon Striefsky. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The signing addresses Jacksonville’s kicking need after Marco Capozzoli’s retirement. Capozzoli finished his career as the Sharks’ all-time leader in field goals (24) and extra points (121.)
Striefsky (6’0, 175) is a 3-year veteran in the AFL who played for the Philadelphia Soul in 2011 and played in Jacksonville for one game in 2012. Striefsky hasn’t seen action in the AFL since 2014 when he played for Philadelphia.
Through his entire career in the AFL, Striefsky has completed 2 of 4 kicks and 39 of 48 PAT’s. Before that, the Towamencin, Pennsylvania native attended the University of Delaware.
