Sharks rout VooDoo, win for fourth time in five games

The Jacksonville Sharks scored 42 unanswered points, including 21 in a span of 86 seconds to open the second half, and routed the New Orleans VooDoo 70-41 Saturday night in New Orleans.

Jacksonville (4-5) has won four of its last five games, and New Orleans (2-7) has lost seven of its last eight.

Sharks quarterback Tommy Grady completed 23-of-28 passes for 278 yards and eight touchdowns. Wide receiver Tiger Jones caught four touchdown passes, and fullback Derrick Ross added two TD runs.

The Sharks turned two New Orleans interceptions into touchdown drives in the first half to lead 28-20 at the break. Grady was 13 of 14 for 146 yards and three touchdowns - two to Jones and one to Jeron Harvey - in the first two quarters.

Jacksonville opened it up to 35-20 by scoring on the first possession of the second half. Grady threw a 12-yard pass to Joe Hills for the touchdown. For Hills, it was his 44th consecutive game with at least one TD catch.

Scooter Berry recovered a bad bounce off the crossbar for the Sharks on the following kickoff. Grady threw a 13-yard pass to tight end Moqut Ruffins on the next play.
