Veteran Quarterback Throws 400th Touchdown Pass of His Career

PHILADELPHIA (March 31, 2015) – Philadelphia’s Dan Raudabaugh reached a milestone in his career and threw his 400th touchdown pass as an AFL quarterback in the Soul’s season opener against Orlando. The Soul started the season strong and came out victorious with a 70-63 victory over the Predators on Sunday. Raudabaugh, who earned Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Game honors, finished the night by completing 30-of-48 passes for 422 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions, making his career total currently 404 touchdowns. Raudabaugh has the third-most touchdown passes amongst active players, falling behind Tommy Grady (Jacksonville Sharks) and Nick Davila (Arizona Rattlers).

“Without my teammates, the lineman blocking and the receivers making plays, the milestone wouldn’t have been possible and at the end of the day, the stat shows the hard work put in by everyone,” Raudabaugh said. “I also wouldn’t have been where I am at today without my coaches pushing me to be the best.”

Soul head coach and former quarterback Clint Dolezel heavily influences Raudabaugh’s play. Dolezel’s Hall of Fame career ended with him having 931 career touchdown passes. The 2015 season will be the fifth season the two have been together – four in Philadelphia and one in Dallas. After Sunday’s victory, Raudabaugh is now ranked No. 14 overall in the AFL passing touchdown career leaders list. He has only 42 more scores to surpass Todd Hammel and reaching 500 touchdowns is not out of reach by the end of the season.

The Soul take on the Spokane Shock in their second game of the season on Saturday, April 4th at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN3.com. The two will face for the fourth time overall at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Washington.
