Predators Bolsters Offensive Line with Veteran Addition
ORLANDO – Jan. 6, 2015 – The Orlando Predators announced Monday that the franchise has agreed to terms with veteran free agent offensive lineman Ryan Cave. Now entering his fourth season in the Arena Football League, Cave has played for the Spokane Shock in each of his three previous campaigns.
“Ryan is capable of playing any spot along the offensive line and that kind of versatility is invaluable,” said General Manager of Football Operations Michael DiJulio. “He is an outstanding blocker and his presence will undoubtedly raise our level of play.”
Cave (6-3, 335, Hampton) entered the Arena Football League as a rookie in 2012 with the Spokane Shock, where he appeared in 14 games and caught three passes for 22 yards and two touchdowns. He returned to Spokane in 2013 and started all 15 games in which he played, leading an offensive line that surrendered only 14 sacks on the year and finished second in the AFL.
Last season, Cave split time between Spokane and the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League. He has also played for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes. Throughout his career, Cave has played every position along the offensive front.
