Dr. Diva Nagula Joins Sharks' Ownership Group

Friday December 12, 2014

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that Dr. Diva Nagula has become the newest member of the franchise’s ownership group.

“We are excited to have Diva on board as part of our organization,” Sharks Operating Manager Jeff Bouchy said. “We have been looking for additional local partners to help us expand the awareness of the Sharks and the Arena Football League in Jacksonville. Diva’s combination of business experience, medical knowledge, love of football and passion for the community will allow him to be a major asset for our team.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to become part of the Shark Nation,” Nagula said. “I am excited about the impact that the team has made both on and off the field over its first five seasons, and I look forward to helping the organization continue to grow.”

After graduating from Emory University in the field of Pain Management in 2004, Nagula founded Southeast Spine and Rehabilitation in Camden County, Ga. The practice was the first of its kind to service the non-surgical orthopedic needs of that community. He later served as founder and medical director of Southeast Treatment Center, an ambulatory surgery center also located Camden County. Nagula later acquired First Coast Pain Management in Fernandina Beach, Fla., achieving his dream of having medical practices in both Georgia and Florida.

Throughout his years in Kingsland and Fernandina Beach, Nagula was heavily involved in his local community, offering scholarship programs for high school students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. He was also instrumental in coordinating a relief drive that provided food and medical supplies to those recovering from the earthquake in Haiti.

Nagula sold his medical practice in 2012, subsequently starting a consulting company that assists medical practices with their billing and coding needs. He has also been involved in multiple real estate ventures in Florida, North Carolina and Texas. Most recently, Nagula has chosen to return to academia, accepting a fellowship position in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona.

A resident of the Jacksonville area for the last 10 years, Nagula lives in Jacksonville Beach with his wife, Kayce, and their two dogs, Rajah and Mya.
