Tampa Bay acquires defensive back Rick-J Hill

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired defensive back Rick-J Hill (F/K/A Ricky Johnson), announced Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

“Rick-J has played in other indoor leagues,” said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels. “While he may be a rookie his experience will help him get acclimated to the speed of the game. He also brings physicality to the position which is something you need to succeed on the defensive end.”

Hill (6-foot-1, 211 lbs., Fort Valley State University) joins the Storm for his rookie season in the Arena Football League. The Atlanta, Georgia native finished fourth in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with 90 tackles and earned First Team All-SIAC honors in his senior season. Hill would go on to finish his senior year with eight tackles for a loss including 3.5 sacks, an interception, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

Hill started the 2014 season in training camp with the Storm. He has played in other indoor leagues.
