Garcia, Keizer, Quiroga earn week 3 honors

Floyd, McGlenn, and Banks also awarded for weekend’s highlights 

TULSA, OKLA. – Jacksonville QB AARON GARCIA, Orlando DB RAYSHAUN KIZER and Orlando WR/LB ROBERT QUIROGA have been named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week, Riddell Defensive Player of the Week and JLS Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 3 of the 2011 AFL season. In addition to these three awards, the AFL is also awarding the best catch of the week, the playmaker of the week and the highlight of the week. The Cutters Catch of the Week award winner for Week 3 is DB MARQUIS FLOYD of the Arizona Rattlers, while the NiFTy Playmaker of the Week is Iowa DB CAMERON McGLENN. The Spalding Highlight of the Week award winner is Iowa QB BRAD BANKS.

RUSSELL ATHLETIC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Garcia (6-1, 195, Sacramento State) completed 89 percent of his passes in Week 3, finishing 17-for-19 and passing for 308 yards and eight touchdowns in the Sharks 64-33 victory over New Orleans. The AFL’s all-time passing yards leader has now thrown for more than 26 miles in his 17-year career.
RIDDELL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kizer (5-10, 190, Walsh) led the Predators with 10 tackles, three interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced fumble in Orlando’s 68-53 win over Utah. He leads the league in interceptions with four on the season.
JLS IRONMAN OF THE WEEK
Quiroga (6-2, 210, Baylor) caught eight balls for 103 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Predators 63-53 victory over the Blaze. He made his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball as well, coming up with 3.5 tackles on the night. He also returned two kicks for 15 yards in the game.
CUTTERS CATCH OF THE WEEK
Floyd (6-0, 195, West Georgia) made a leaping, one-handed interception of a Bobby Reid pass on the sideline in the second quarter of the Rattlers’ 69-20 victory over Tulsa in Week 2. Floyd finished the game with a team-high 6.5 tackles and 2 interceptions.
NIFTY PLAYMAKER OF THE GAME
McGlenn (6-0, 185, Elon University) intercepted Spokane QB Kyle Rowley with 14 seconds to play to preserve the Barnstormers 43-42 victory over the Shock. The interception was McGlenn’s second on the night.
SPALDING HIGHLIGHT OF THE GAME
Banks (6-0, 212, Iowa) took a quarterback sneak 22 yards to the end zone in the first quarter of Iowa’s 43-42 win over Spokane. Banks came away with 44 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to go along with his 244 yards and 5 scores through the air in the game.
Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona’s Trandon Harvey, Chicago’s Russ Michna, Cleveland’s Kurt Rocco, Iowa’s Brad Banks and Orlando’s Nick Hill.
Riddell Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Iowa’s Cameron McGlenn, Jacksonville’s LaRoche Jackson, Milwaukee’s Dayon Benson and San Jose’s Gabe Nyenhuis.
JLS Ironman of the Week candidates included: Chicago’s Jason Simpson, Jacksonville’s Sale Key and Tampa Bay’s Michael Lindsey.
