Iron add another four to roster

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Iron of the Arena Football League announced today that they have added another four players to their 2010 roster. Highlighting the group is the AFL All-Time touchdown reception leader Damian Harrell. In addition, the Iron have added wide receiver/defensive backs Roger Brown and Thomas Flowers as well as lineman Johnny Jackson.
Damian Harrell, WR/DB, 6’3”, 200, Florida St.
Harrell, 36, will play his 11th season in the AFL with the Iron this season. Over his AFL career, Harrell has spent time with the Chicago Rush, Colorado Crush, New England Sea Wolves and Toronto Phantoms, combining for possibly the best receiving numbers in AFL history. He has tallied an AFL high 320 touchdowns, the third-most receiving yards with 13,046 and fourth-most receptions with 987. Harrell is within 171 receptions and 318 receiving yards of taking over the sole career lead in the three major categories in AFL receiving.
Harrell also holds the single-season AFL record with 61 touchdowns and 366 points as well as having at least one touchdown in 78 straight games, an AFL high. Prior to his AFL career, Harrell spent two seasons at Florida State University where he had 13 receptions for 178 yards and three touchdowns in his first season with the Seminoles. He began his collegiate career at City College of San Francisco before transferring to FSU.
Roger Brown, WR/DB, 6’0”, 200, Delaware
Brown signs with the Iron after spending his collegiate career with the University of Delaware. A five-year defensive back, Brown led the deep Blue Hen secondary during his 39 career games. He tallied 96 total tackles, 10 pass breakups and two interceptions. In 2005 was selected as the teams co-captain after leading the team to a 9-4 record and a share of the Atlantic 10 conference title in 2004.
Thomas Flowers, WR/DB, 5’10”, 185, Georgia
Flowers, 25, comes to the Iron after a stellar career at the University of Georgia. He spent his entire collegiate career with the Bulldogs as a defensive back and punt returner. In his time at Georgia, Flowers combined to make 46 tackles, 40 solo tackles and two interceptions in addition to his 803 punt return yards and one return for a touchdown.
Johnny Jackson, OL/DL, 6’4”, 280, Arizona
Jackson comes to the Iron after playing in the CFL last season, making the transition from the arenafootball2. In 2008, Jackson played for the Tri-Cities Fever and prior to that Jackson led the Everett Hawks of the arenafootball2 with 10.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
The Milwaukee Iron have ascended to the highest level of Arena Football as a member of the Arena Football League. Downtown Milwaukee and the Bradley Center will come alive as the Iron play host to legendary AFL teams such as the Iowa Barnstormers, Tampa Bay Storm, Arizona Rattlers, Chicago Rush, Utah Blaze, Cleveland Gladiators, Orlando Predators and more.
