First Trade for 2008 Season
The New York Dragons acquire OL/DL Henry Taylor and FB Jamar Martin, both formerly of the New Orleans VooDoo in exchange for WR Mike Horacek and future considerations.
The Dragons found a talented defensive pass rusher in Taylor, who has recorded eight sacks in each of the last two seasons. In his five-season career, Taylor has recorded 80.5 total tackles, 25.5 sacks, 4 pass breakups, 7 forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. On offense he also added 12 receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown.
“It’s a great feeling coming to New York,” said Taylor. “I’m looking forward to being in a place where we have an opportunity to win some ball games. I’m happy to have a new team, a new city, and a new start.”
Horacek leaves the Dragons franchise where he has spent seven years of his ten-year career. In his career, Horacek has recorded 817 receptions for 10,764 yards and 234 touchdowns. He also added 10 rushes for 41 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 117 total tackles, ten pass breakups, five fumble recoveries and five interceptions for 153 yards and three touchdowns.
