Greisen, Johnson, and Johnson receive ArenaFan.com Week Sixteen honors

For their performances during the seventh week of the Arena Football 2007 season, Chris Greisen (QB, Georgia Force), Jeroid Johnson (DB, Tampa Bay Storm), and C.J. Johnson (WR/DB Nashville Kats) have been named Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Two-Way Player of the Week, respectively, by the writers and staff of ArenaFan.com.

Offensive Player of the Week: Chris Greisen went 27 of 37 for 323 yards and eight touchdown passes, leading the Georgia Force to an impressive 55-44 victory at Amway Arena over the Orlando Predators.  Greisen now has an AFL-record 111 TDs on the season versus just 11 interceptions.  With 4688 passing yards on the season, Greisen currently sits 2nd only to Joe Germaine in passing yards this season and sixth on the single season all-time passing yardage list with a chance to surpass Mark Grieb’s current record of 4834 yards set last season.

Other players considered for the week seven Offensive Player of the Week were Otis Amey (Austin Wranglers), Lang Campbell (Austin Wranglers), and Larry Brackins (Philadelphia Soul).

Defensive Player of the Week: Jeroid Johnson recovered two fumbles on kick coverage team and recorded his ninth interception on the season, propelling the Tampa Bay Storm to a 69-40 victory over the Grand Rapids Rampage.  Johnson also added four solo tackles and a pass deflection for a defense which held the Rampage to six second half points.

Other players considered for the week seven Defensive Player of the Week were Jermaine Jones (Dallas Desperados), Tim McGill (Tampa Bay Storm), and Jeremy Unertl (Chicago Rush).

Two-Way Player of the Week: C.J. Johnson electrified the Nashville Kats on both offense and special teams in Week 16, as the Kats suffered a 66-63 defeat to the hands of the Kansas City Brigade.  Johnson led the team with nine kick returns for 302 yards and two scores.  He also contributed over half of the receiving totals on the team, logging six catches for 97 yards and three touchdowns.

Other players considered for the week seven Two-Way Player of the Week were Torrance Marshall (Tampa Bay Storm), Kenny Henderson (New Orleans VooDoo), and DeJuan Alfonzo (Chicago Rush).
