Celebrating the history of the Arena Football League

ArenaFan.com Press Release

Arenafan Online to Change Ownership. Sheller Stepping Down

Wednesday December 10, 2003

After six years as Arenafan Online`s owner and editor-in-chief, Kevin Sheller, 31, will be selling the site internally to long-time contributor, statistics director, and assistant technical director, Joe Kauffman.

The transaction of the sale will occur on January 1st, 2004.

The volunteer owner has decided to dedicate his life to other endeavors, not the least of which his career as Executive Producer of High Voltage Software, a video game company located in Hoffman Estates, IL.

"Arenafan has been a labor of love for me since Dave Carlson and I started it in 1998. Slowly, the daily operation of Arenafan has become more labor than love," said Sheller. "It takes its toll. I still love Arena Football. I still love the Chicago Rush. But I need to go back to enjoying the league as a fan - not as a member of the media."

Sheller`s official involvement in the daily operation of Arenafan Online will cease. He could still contribute an occasional article or act as a special consultant.

Kauffman`s ownership will mark the first time the site will be overseen by anyone other than Sheller since he purchased the domain name in 1998.

"While Kevin will be missed, we don`t expect our users to notice a drop-off in quality or timeliness in their daily dose of Arena Football news," said Kauffman. "As a matter of fact, during the offseason we hope to make some improvements and upgrades to the site`s already outstanding layout and feature set."
