AFL and Jason Foundation Partners for Jason's Week

Friday July 6, 2018

LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League and The Jason Foundation, Inc. have partnered for the 4th Annual Jason’s Week, an awareness event to draw attention to the “silent epidemic” of youth suicide. During this weekend’s games, each team will support The Jason Foundation in spreading awareness and prevention. Events, announcements, and promotional giveaways will take place for the audience attending the Baltimore Brigade vs. Washington Valor and Philadelphia Soul vs. Albany Empire games on Saturday, July 7.

The Jason Foundation believes that awareness and educational programs are the first steps in prevention by providing students, parents, and teachers the tools and resources to help identify and help at-risk youth. Suicide is now the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10-24 in our country.

“We are proud to continue our support of The Jason Foundation and aid in the awareness of youth suicide through our Jason’s Week initiatives,” Commissioner Randy Boe stated.

The Jason Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting the “silent epidemic” of youth suicide through educational programs for young people, educators, parents, and other community groups. JFI, headquartered in Hendersonville, Tenn., was founded in 1997 after the tragic death of Jason Flatt, the 16-year-old son of Clark Flatt. All programs and materials are available to the public at no cost.
