Soul face Baltimore Brigade on the road this Friday

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Soul (3-0) are on the road against the Baltimore Brigade (2-1) at the Royal Farms Arena on Friday, May 4th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. The Soul are 1-0 against the Brigade in the 2018 season. Fans can watch the game from anywhere on Facebook Watch and here in Philadelphia on NBC Sports Philadelphia+ Fans can also listen live on 97.5 “The Fanatic.”

Similar to the first Soul-Brigade contest, the key players to watch will be the two AFL veteran quarterbacks in the Soul’s Dan Raudabaugh and the Brigade’s Randy Hippeard. While Raudabaugh currently leads the league in the major statistical categories of completions (67), attempts (93), yards (764) and touchdowns (17), Hippeard ranks second in most of these so fans should anticipate big numbers from this position.

As for the Brigade’s roster, keep your eye on WR Brandon Thompkins. Thompkins has totaled 11 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown this season. In Week 2 against the Soul, he led the Brigade receivers with seven receptions for 71 yards. There are also three Brigade defenders to watch this week: Virgil Gray, Fred Obi and Joe Powell. Gray led the Brigade defense in that Week 2 matchup with 7.5 tackles, while Obi and Powell currently rank second and third in the league in total tackles, with 13.5 and 12, respectively.

On the Soul side of the equation, look out for rising star, Darius Prince (WR). The ArenaBowl XXX MVP is tops in the league in receiving yards (252) and receptions (23). Also watch out for rookie FB/LB Adrian Ferns, who leads the league in rushing yards (55) and is coming off a three-touchdown performance against Washington in Week 3. As for defense, any opposing team of the Soul should always keep their eyes on the dynamic duo of DB Dwayne Hollis and DB James Romain. Hollis currently leads the league in total tackles with 15.5, including a team-high 7.5 tackles in the Week 2 matchup against the Brigade. Romain has a total of 12.5 tackles for the season.

Coming Up Next: In Week 5, the Soul will be on a bye. The Soul then return home on Saturday, May 19th at the Wells Fargo Center against the Albany Empire. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
