AFL Awards Week 2 Players of the Week

 Reynolds and Romain help keep the Philadelphia Soul undefeated

LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Philadelphia Soul’s wide receiver Darius Reynolds and Soul’s defensive back James Romain have been named as the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 2, respectively.

OFFEENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Reynolds (6’2, 205, Iowa State) caught a nine-yard touchdown catch with 12 seconds left in the Soul’s (2-0) 54-49 win over the Baltimore Brigade (1-1) that would turn out to be the game winner. The former Cyclone hauled in 11 receptions for 151 yards and four touchdowns. Reynolds leads the League in reception yards (221) and receiving touchdowns (5).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Romain (5’11, 175, Delaware State) recorded 4.0 total tackles and two pass breakups in the Soul’s home opener on Saturday. The former Hornet ranks first in the League in interceptions (1) and fourth in passes defended (1.50 avg./game).
