ALBANY, NY - The Arena Football League’s newest team will host an Open House event, presented by Recovery Room Sports Grill, at the Times Union Center on Tuesday, December 5 from 5pm - 8pm. This first public event for the team will be free to the public, including free parking at the Times Union Center Garage (off Market Street).
“We couldn’t be more excited to host our first public event to show our fans first-hand the type of organization we are putting in place”, said Albany AFL Vice President of Business Operations George Manias. “The excitement we have received from the marketplace since our launch is encouraging and we want to showcase our game, our vision, our staff and our commitment to the community. A special thank you to BBL Hospitality and the Recovery Room, for sponsoring this event and becoming the first partners with our organization.”
In addition to Albany and Arena Football Legend “Touchdown” Eddie Brown, Albany AFL Ownership including Ron Jaworski and Marques Colston, Head Coach Rob Keefe, Director of Football Operations Chris Thompson and team executives will be in attendance.
As part of the Open House, there will be a “select-a-seat” event where fans can choose their season tickets on the spot. Those who have secured their season tickets, either through advance purchase or through purchase at the event, will receive a commemorative 2018 Inaugural Season Credential which will give them access to the floor area for a “meet and greet” with our special guests in attendance from 5:00pm - 6:30pm, as well as food and beverage discounts including free popcorn, $1 hot dogs and soft pretzels, $2 canned soda and bottled water, and $3 canned beer.
At 6:30pm, Eddie, Ron, Marques, Coach Keefe and more will address all fans in attendance and talk about the upcoming season. Starting at 7:00pm, Coach Keefe will host an Arena Football 101 on the floor area to give a refresher crash course to former fans, and an introduction to the game for new Arena Football fans.
After the event, fans are encouraged to head to the Recovery Sports Bar and Grill located at 62 New Scotland Road in Albany, near the Albany Medical Center and join Eddie, Albany AFL ownership including Ron Jaworski and Marques Colston, coaches and staff. There will also be food and drink specials available as our guests mingle with fans and welcome them to the new Albany AFL family.
