Hills wins the award in back-to-back seasons

LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Joe Hills has been named 2017 AFL Wide Receiver of the Year. Hills becomes the first-player to be recognized in back-to-back years and first receiver to be named to the award twice.

Hills (6’4”, 220, Tennessee State) appeared in 13 games for the Storm this season and led the league in scoring (228), receptions (129), receiving yards (1,353) and receiving touchdowns (36). In one of the most prolific seasons that the game has seen at the position, the sixth-year veteran also finished the season with a brand-new AFL record for consecutive games with a touchdown reception at 81, surpassing a record set by AFL great Damian Harrell in 2007.
