Storm Washes Away Baltimore For Season Sweep

Tampa Bay Storm defeats Baltimore Brigade, 69-56
Baltimore, MD – The Tampa Bay Storm (9-3) defeated the Baltimore Brigade (4-7) by a score of 69-56 in front of 5,153 fans at Royal Farms Arena. The night saw Storm receiver Joe Hills catch a touchdown in his 79th consecutive game to become the holder of the longest streak in Arena Football League history for most consecutive games with a receiving touchdown.
The Storm was led by Randy Hippeard who completed 13-of-21 passes for 198 yards and seven touchdowns. His top target was Hills who caught seven passes for 39 yards and three touchdowns.
Storm receivers Michael Lindsey and Kendrick Ings both saw action at kick returner and both had kickoffs returned for touchdowns on back-to-back possessions. Ings would also return a second kick return 58 yards for a touchdown.
Ings finished the night with four catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. He would also have three returns for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He racked up 243 all-purpose yards. He now has three of the top-4 all-purpose performances on the season (346, 287 and 243).
The Storm defense was swarming all night. Rookie defensive lineman Kendall Montgomery tallied his first career sack and defensive back LaRoche Jackson reeled in his second interception of the season. Storm jack linebacker ended the Brigade’s final drive with an interception, the 39th of his career.
Baltimore was led by quarterback Shane Carden who completed 30-of-44 passes for 247 yards and six touchdowns.
Tampa Bay will return home to AMALIE Arena for the final home game of the regular season when it will take on the Cleveland Gladiators on “Fan Appreciation Night” on Saturday, July 22. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
