Brigade Set For Saturday Night Matchup with the Soul

Friday May 12, 2017

Baltimore looks to slow down league-leading Philly offense

The Brigade take to the road for their second matchup of the season with the defending champion Philadelphia Soul this Sat., May 13 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Soul took the first matchup of the season despite 258 yards and five touchdowns from Brigade QB Shane Carden.

“Last time we played them we just came out flat and it’s hard to come back from that,” Carden said. “This time around, we just have to come out, start fast and play our game.”

BRIGADE PLAYER TO WATCH: WR Julian Talley – With a combined five touchdowns in his last two games and a career-high 149 yards in his last outing, the 6’1”, 190-pound UMASS product has solidified himself as the Brigade’s premier big-play threat. Talley leads the league with 19.7 yards per reception and just last week registered touchdowns of 37 and 45 yards.

SOUL PLAYER TO WATCH: QB DAN RAUDABAUGH – The Soul signal caller ranks second in the league in passing touchdowns (23) and third in passing yards (956), leading an offense that racks up an AFL-best 60.8 points per game. Raudabaugh has thrown for at least 200 yards and five touchdowns in all four outings this season, highlighted by last week’s 245-yard, eight-touchdown performance against the Cleveland Gladiators.

MATCHUP TO WATCH: BRIGADE PASS RUSH vs. SOUL PASSING ATTACK – The Brigade defensive line – led by Khreem Smith and Dexter Davis, who rank 1-2 in the AFL in tackles for loss and sacks – look to slow down one of the league’s most vaunted passing offenses. As a team, the Brigade have recorded more tackles for loss, sacks and fumble recoveries than any team in the league. The Brigade are also the only team in the league to have returned two fumbles for touchdowns.

BROADCAST INFORMATION: Saturday night’s game will be broadcast on Monumental Sports Network.
