AFL Awards Week 2 Players of the Week

 Reynolds and Davis Jr. earn weekly honors with exceptional performances In Week 2

LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Philadelphia’s Darius Reynolds and Baltimore’s Dexter Davis Jr. have been named as the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 2, respectively.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Reynolds (6’2”, 205, Iowa State) scored all three Philadelphia Soul (1-0) touchdowns in the fourth quarter in a 56-52 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm (1-1). Now in his fifth season, he began his 2017 campaign by hauling in five passes for 78 yards, caught three touchdowns and capped the game with a game-winning 11-yard kickoff return for touchdown. A season ago, he led the Soul in all receiving categories with 112 receptions for 1,447 yards and 38 touchdowns.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Davis Jr. (6’4”, 230, Friends Univ.) had a standout performance leading the Baltimore Brigade (1-1) to its first-ever AFL victory over the Cleveland Gladiators (0-2), 52-49. The former Falcon, recorded 4.5 tackles, 3.0 sacks and forced two fumbles recovering one of them. Currently Davis Jr. is second in the AFL with 3.0 sacks.
