Conshohocken, PA (September 12, 2016) The China Arena Football League (CAFL) and Arena Football League Global (AFL-G) today announced that ONE World Sports, America’s Network for Global Sports, would carry their upcoming inaugural season, Super Series 2016. Beginning with the inaugural match live from Beijing, China’s capital city, Stamford-based ONE World Sports will air the CAFL’s entire 18-game series.
“The opportunity to partner with ONE World Sports for the CAFL’s inaugural season is a wonderful opportunity for the league. Through ONE World Sports’ growing distribution, fans in the U.S. will see something that will make them shake their heads in surprise, our game of US-style football, being played in China, with US and Chinese players,” explained broadcaster and former NFL star Ron Jaworski, who is one of the US-based owners of the new league. “What an amazing time for our sport! After years of building a foundation, we are about to kickoff, and the world will get to watch this truly historical league evolve from the other side of the globe. Who could have envisioned this?”
ONE World Sports partnership with the CAFL allows fans to see firsthand the growth and popularity of American style football throughout the world, culminating with the launch of a league of its own in China,” said Todd Myers, Vice President Programming, Acquisitions & Development, ONE World Sports. “The addition of football to ONE World Sports’ diverse programming further illustrates the network’s mission of providing varied sports from around the world, including those that emanate from and are most popular in the U.S.”
ONE World Sports’ coverage of the historic first season of the CAFL is available to viewers throughout the United States. ONE World Sports is a multi-platform sports network uniquely positioned to serve sports fans with marquee, live and original, content from around the globe. ONE World Sports is one of the fastest growing independent sports networks available throughout the United States. Currently available to more than 43 million homes nationally on cable, telco and satellite, ONE World Sports delivers live and exclusive coverage of some of America’s most popular sports played professionally outside the USA and already features China’s most successful pro league, the China Basketball Association plus sporting events with the largest global followings, including soccer and cricket. The CAFL is the brainchild of Martin. E. Judge Jr, a prominent Philadelphia area businessman, who has been closely involved in arena-style football as an owner (along with Jaworski) of the Philadelphia Soul.
“The People of China are going to love our sport and they will love seeing their own players on the field. I think the world will see this and shake their heads with amazement. Thanks to ONE World Sports’ coverage, the world will get to see our dream turn into a reality,” said Judge, who founded the CAFL’s parent company, AFL-Global and the CAFL in 2011.

With the official announcement of approval from the China government, the new professional league will be called CAFL (China Arena Football League), and the Beijing based operating company, formerly known as Ganlan Media International, will carry the same name.
“We think this acronym says it all,” said David Niu, the President of AFL Global, the founding corporation based in Conshohocken, PA, USA. “The league, and all of our efforts, are unique to China. We want to highlight the fact that we are playing American-style football, not to be confused with soccer. And we want to emphasize that this is China’s first ever professional league, played by the best players in the world.”
Plans call for a league debut in the Fall of 2016. Many of the rosters will feature Chinese players, who have been learning and training for the arena game specifically for over a year, at 6 select Chinese Universities, under the guidance of AFL Global.
CAFL headquarters are located in Beijing, with leadership comprised of senior media executives and sports professionals with an array of government and commercial experience.
