Soul DL Joins the Eagles Training Camp Roster for the 2016 Season

PHILADELPHIA—The 2016 World Champion Philadelphia Soul today announced the DL Jake Metz (6’6, 265, Shippensburg) has been added to the Philadelphia Eagles roster.

“I could not be happier for Jake,” said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. “The transformation I have seen from his rookie season to this year has been monumental, and clearly I am not the only one to notice this. I wish him luck and know that he will be a great addition to the Eagles defense.”

In his second year with the Soul, Metz recorded 29.5 total tackles, three pass break-ups, two forced fumbles and one quarterback hurry. He led the league in sacks, finishing with 8.0 during the regular season. Metz was awarded the Arena Football League’s Defensive Lineman of the Year and was First Team All-Arena for his performance this season.

Jake is the second Soul player to be signed to the NFL this year. Wide Receiver Harvey Binford played for the Soul in 2015 and 2016, and is currently on the Green Bay Packers roster.
