Sharks assigned DL Keith Bowers

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that they were assigned defensive lineman Keith Bowers. Per team policy, the terms of the contract weren’t released.
Bowers (6’2, 285) enters his rookie year in the AFL after playing four years at Maryland. During his college years at Maryland, Bowers was the first true freshmen to start along the defensive line since 2005. Additionally, Bowers was an honorable mention Freshman All-American.
After an injury-plagued Sophomore season, Bowers went on to start nine games his junior year and set a career-best nine tackles in one game. Bowers also started nine games his senior year and appeared in all twelve games.
The West Palm Beach, Florida native attended William T. Dwyer High School. There he led his team to the 2010 and 2009 Florida 4A State Championships. Additionally he allotted 15 sacks his senior year of high school.
