Los Angeles (May 27, 2016)— The LA KISS have been assigned defensive lineman Dontay Moch, who most recently was on the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons. The four-year NFL veteran looks to add his speed and agility to the LA KISS’ defensive line.
“We are really excited for the opportunity to work with Moch, as it is his first experience in the AFL,” said Head Coach Omarr Smith. “He is a highly explosive player, which led to him being selected with the second pick of the third round in the 2011 NFL Draft. We are eager to see what he can do in the AFL with the LA KISS.”
Moch (6-3, 255, Nevada) was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in third round (66th overall pick) of the 2011 NFL draft. After being inactive for the entire 2011 season, Moch saw action in one game for the Bengals in 2012. He then, in 2013, recorded three tackles and one sack in four games for the Arizona Cardinals. During the 2014 season, Moch tallied two tackles and a pass deflection in three games for the Tennessee Titans.
Moch, a native of Chandler, Arizona, played collegiate football at the University of Nevada from 2006 to 2010. He set Western Athletic Conference (WAC) records with 62 tackles-for-loss and nine forced fumbles during his career in the Wolf Pack. In addition to being awarded with second and first team “All-WAC” honors in 2008 and 2009, respectively, he was also named the “WAC Defensive Player of the Year” in 2009.
