China Super Series to Kick Off Historic Season

 Conshohocken, Pa (April 29, 2016) – The CAFL (China Arena Football League) is proud to announce the launch of its historic first season of US-style professional football in China. The CAFL “Super Series” will be played in six major cities on the Chinese mainland in the autumn of 2016.

The CAFL Super Series will celebrate the first pro football game in China history with their premier weekend of play on October 1, 2016 in the nation’s capital of Beijing. All 6 CAFL teams will square off over two days of games and interactive family fun on the turf inside the spectacular LeSports Center.

On succeeding weekends, the CAFL Super Series teams will visit the home cities of each franchise, culminating with a playoff and championship weekend (November 5) in Shanghai. In all The CAFL Super Series will visit all 6 franchise cities, with 3 games to be played each weekend in the glittery modern arenas in China’s tier-1 cities.

The newly founded 6 teams will play one game each weekend in the Super Series. In all, each team will play one game against each of the other CAFL teams in the regular season, before the post season weekend to be held in Shanghai.

“We look at each stop in the Super Series as a week-long celebration of our sport in each city” said Marty Judge, the founder and Chairman of the new league, who has been laying the foundation for the CAFL since 2012. “Our entire entourage of players, coaches, officials, cheerleaders and staff will be making history as ambassadors of our great game. This is just the beginning. We intend to lead the amazing growth of China’s sports industry with our knowledge of the world’s most exciting contact sport.”

On each stop of the Super Series the CAFL players, coaches and staff will visit with the location of the first CAFL teams, their logos and nicknames, and local community groups for various fun and informative events designed to promote and educate newcomers about US-football, which is relatively new to most in China. Practices will be held in public venues wherever possible during the week. Each Friday night, the CAFL Super Series will host a festive banquet of greeting and celebration for community leaders and interested partners. On Saturday, the CAFL Super Series kicks off weekly competition with a doubleheader of CAFL match ups with the added feature of US and China based entertainment and music between contests. Sundays will be another family fun showcase of the sport, and will showcase an inter-active fan festival and football expo, a job fair and more, before the final CAFL game of the weekend.
