Thursday March 10, 2016
PDX SC will be the practice and administrative facility of the Portland Steel. “We are excited about this partnership, it fits perfectly into our business model of community and sports” said M-J Tate Director of Business Development for PDX SC. Tate went on to add in a briefing on Friday, “ our facility is built for these partnerships, working with the AFL and the Portland Steel has been incredibly collaborative. We are looking forward to a great season on and off the field.”
Head Coach Ron James said: "The quality of the facility, coupled with the quality of the staff on hand has made the beginning of our training camp a very fluid and positive experience. We're excited to call PDX Sportscenter our home for the 2016 season."
The new look Steel, behind the leadership of head coach and general manager Ron James, seek to build on back to back AFL postseason appearances with an eye toward Arena Bowl XXIX this August. All-Arena quarterback Shane Austin and standout wide receiver Nick Truesdell join veteran linebacker Bryce Peila and center John Collins, proving the Steel will be a force to be dealt with in the Arena Football League this season.
