Tampa Bay acquires offensive lineman Chris Jasperse
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired offensive lineman Chris Jasperse, announced Storm Vice President of Football Operations Jeff Gooch.
“Chris is a versatile offensive lineman that has experience at the NFL level,” said Gooch. “It has always been a goal of ours to improve the offensive line in order to protect our quarterback. We believe that Chris has what it takes to meet those expectations and we are excited to see him in training camp next week.”
Jasperse (6-foot-4, 300 lbs., Marshall) enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League. The former Marshall walk-on started in 53-of-53 games for the Herd, setting a school record. He has shown versatility throughout his collegiate career, playing at both the guard and center positions. Of his 53 starts, 50 were at the center position. Jasperse is a two-time All-Conference USA first team selection at center. For his career he’s played 4,040 snaps, leading all FBS offensive lineman following the 2014 season. Following his senior season, he played in the Senior Bowl and the Medal of Honor Bowl.
Jasperse began his professional career in 2015 when he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie free agent.
