PHILADELPHIA- The Arena Football League today announced that WR Prechae Rodriguez (6’4, 215, Auburn) has been traded from the Jacksonville Sharks to the Philadelphia Soul for future considerations.
“We are fortunate to have a receiver of Prechae’s caliber on our roster this year,” said Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel. “His experience will give him the chance to be a leader on the field and will be a dangerous weapon for our offense, especially in the red zone.”
Rodriguez was a member of the Sharks that made an ArenaBowl appearance this past season and recorded 14 receptions for 157 yards and four touchdowns. In 2014 he was a member of the Pittsburgh Power and caught 85 passes for 1,138 yards and 32 touchdowns. Rodriguez previously spent time with the Orlando Predators where he recorded 119 receptions for 1,578 yards and 40 touchdowns and also with the Tampa Bay Storm, catching 125 receptions for 1,653 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Before heading to the AFL, Rodriguez spent time in the CFL playing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2008), Saskatchewan Roughriders (2010), Monteral Alouettes (2011), Edmonton Eskimos (2011) and Toronto Argonauts (2011). He finished his collegiate career at Auburn after transferring from Coffeyville Community College, where he totaled 27 receptions for 408 yards and two touchdowns playing for Auburn.
