DE Dukes Assigned to the Rattlers

 Phoenix, Ariz. – The five time world champion Arizona Rattlers have been assigned defensive end Cliff Dukes for the 2016 Arena Football League (AFL) season. This will be Dukes’ fifth season with the Arizona Rattlers, his eighth in the AFL.

Dukes has been a dynamic playmaker on the defensive line since his arrival in 2012. In 2014 Dukes amassed nine sacks, the third most sacks in a single season in Rattlers history, earning him second team All-Arena honors.

Prior to the Rattlers, Dukes began his AFL career with the Tampa Bay Storm. While with the Storm he earned second team All-Arena honors in 2010 and first team All-Arena honors in 2011. Dukes also earned the 2011 Game Tape Exchange Defensive Lineman of the Year award.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Dukes attended Michigan State where he started 35 games from 2001-2005 for the Spartans and tallied 15.5 sacks in that time.

The Lexington Park, Maryland native was a defensive end and fullback at Great Mills High School. While there, Dukes ranked among the Mid-Atlantic’s top players by SuperPrep as well as Tom Lemming’s Prep Football Report. He also rated among the state’s top fullbacks by Lemming.
