Gladiators Announce Training Camp Schedule and Media Day

 CLEVELAND - The 2014 American Conference Champion Cleveland Gladiators announced their training camp schedule today. On-field camp will be open to fans and media beginning Monday March 9th and ending Friday, March 20th, when the final roster will be determined. The annual preseason Media Day will be held Tuesday, March 10th following the day’s on-field session. For the second straight season, the training camp and practice home of the Gladiators will be All Pro Athletic Complex in Lorain (2101 All Pro Athletic Avenue, Lorain, OH 44053). The Gladiators are on the field each day during training camp to start practice at 10:00 a.m.

Media Day for the Gladiators will be held following practice on Tuesday, March 10th after the day’s on-field session, which begins at 10:00 a.m. All coaches and players will be available to media following practice on Tuesday, March 10th, including Gladiators Head Coach and 2014 Arena Football League Coach of the Year Steve Thonn, new Defensive Coordinator Ron James, and 2014 Second-Team All-Arena Quarterback Shane Austin. Other key returning players from last season’s history-making 17-1 Gladiators squad include Offensive Linemen C.J. Cobb, Kitt O’Brien and Strongsville native Chad Schofield; Wide Receivers Dominick Goodman and Collin Taylor; Defensive Lineman Willie McGinnis; and Defensive Backs Joe Phinisee and Dominic Jones. Also on-hand will be newly acquired Wide Receiver Amarri Jackson and Defensive Lineman Mike Alston.

The Gladiators begin the 2015 season with a road game against the Tampa Bay Storm on Friday, March 27th at 7:30 p.m. and the Gladiators host the Arizona Rattlers in an ArenaBowl XXVII rematch in their home opener at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. Last season’s Gladiators set an AFL record with 17 regular season victories, including an incredible six wins on the final play of the game. The Gladiators hosted ArenaBowl XXVII at The Q, marking Cleveland’s first appearance in the AFL’s championship game.
