Storm retains offensive lineman Alfred McCullough; acquires wide receiver Kendrick Ings

TAMPA BAY – Offensive lineman Alfred McCullough has returned to the Tampa Bay Storm, announced team vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. The team also acquired rookie wide receiver Kendrick Ings.

“Alfred has been a staple on the team’s offensive line for the past two seasons,” said Gooch. “He has been one of the most consistent and durable offensive linemen in the League. We are happy to have him back with the team and look forward to his leadership in the locker room.”

McCullough (6-foot-2, 330 lbs., Alabama) returns for his third season in the blue and gold. The Athens, Alabama native played in 35-of-37 games over the past two seasons, starting in all 35 appearances. McCullough has shown his pass catching ability throughout his professional career, hauling in five receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns. A versatile lineman, McCullough also has the ability to play on the defensive line when his number is called.

The two-time national champion (2009 and 2011) began his professional career as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League in 2012.

Ings (5-foot-10, 180 lbs.) attended the Storm’s most recent open tryout this past November. The Miami, FL native impressed the coaching staff with his speed and route running.

“We liked what we saw on film,” said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels. “Kendrick is the type of player we look for in tryouts. He’s a hard worker, coachable and understands the Storm way.”

Ings prepped at Miller Grove High School (Lithonia, GA). He spent some time with the Pittsburgh Power and also played for the Dodge City Law of the CPIFL.
