SAN JOSE, Calif.– The San Jose SaberCats continued to add talent to their receiving corps in free agency, picking up former National Football League wide receiver Michael Preston.

“Michael has an incredible skill set on the outside,” said Owner and Head Coach Darren Arbet. “He is a tall receiver who can run by you in the open field and jump over you in the red zone.”

Preston (6-4, 210, Heidelberg) has spent the last three seasons as a member of the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. He signed to the Titans practice squad in 2011, and worked his way onto the active roster in 2012. During that year, Preston appeared in four games, registering five catches for 59 yards. In 2013, he saw action in seven games for Tennessee, notching five receptions for 37 yards and two touchdowns.

Preston also has experience in the Arena Football League, playing three games for the Utah Blaze in 2011. In those three contests, he caught 28 passes for 332 yards and five touchdowns. After his impressive stint with Utah, he signed to the Titans practice squad.

In 2008 as a sophomore, Preston picked up 26 catches for 387 yards and four touchdowns.
